A double dose of holiday cheer, infused with a dash of psychological manipulation courtesy of British mentalist Derren Brown, arrives in Springfield this December with “O C’mon All Ye Faithful,” a new Simpsons special premiering on Disney+ on Monday, Dec. 17.

Marking the 35th anniversary of the series’ inaugural Christmas episode, “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire,” this new installment finds Springfield enveloped in festive spirit, albeit with a Brown-ian twist. The renowned illusionist lends his voice and his mind-bending expertise to the proceedings, apparently boosting the town’s holiday morale.

The special’s narrative centers on Homer Simpson, who, through Brown’s hypnotic suggestion, becomes convinced he is Santa Claus. This delusion precipitates a town-wide examination of belief, miracles, and the very nature of Christmas spirit.

Adding to the Yuletide merriment are musical performances by the legendary Patti LaBelle and Grammy-winning a cappella group Pentatonix. Their contributions promise a soundtrack as vibrant and diverse as the special itself.

“O C’mon All Ye Faithful” will be available exclusively on Disney+, joining the platform’s extensive library of “Simpsons” content, including all 35 seasons, “The Simpsons Movie,” and a collection of shorts. A trailer for the special has already been released, offering a glimpse into the hypnotic holiday hijinks awaiting viewers. For longtime fans, this new special represents a continuation of a beloved tradition, while newcomers can enjoy a unique, musically rich entry point to the enduring world of “The Simpsons.”
