Springtime on the Farm: Season 8 Premiere (5, Tuesday, 15 April, 2025)

Yorkshire

“Springtime on the Farm” returns to Channel 5, ushering in a new season of heartwarming animal stories and rural life. The series, now in its eighth season, is a welcome dose of pastoral charm, following the daily rhythms of Cannon Hall Farm in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

With Helen Skelton, JB Gill, and Jules Hudson at the helm, viewers get a front-row seat to the births, the breakthroughs, and the occasional bumps in the road that come with farming life. In the season premiere, Farmer Rob Nicholson finds himself playing midwife to a ewe experiencing a breech birth, welcoming not one, not two, but three lambs into the world.

Elsewhere on the farm, a surprise arrival keeps everyone on their toes: Bluebell, a donkey foal born unexpectedly early, becomes the center of attention. And venturing beyond the farm gates, JB Gill investigates a “green revolution” taking root in the back streets of Manchester, exploring innovative urban farming initiatives.

As a nod to agricultural history, the new season will also commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Women’s Land Army, paying tribute to the women who kept Britain’s farms running during wartime. Tune in to Channel 5 this Tuesday, 15 April, at 8:00 PM for the season premiere.
