Stacey Solomon’s Bricking It New Make Over Show for Channel 4

Candle Media’s Hello Sunshine has just announced its first commission in the United Kingdom. Best-selling author and TV host Stacey Solomon hosts the Channel 4 do-it-yourself series “Stacey Solomon’s Bricking It,” which offers viewers simple and practical advice for renovating their homes on their own.

Stacey comes to the rescue when the bad builders leave off, teaching homeowners that doing the work themselves is easy, rewarding, and more cost-effective than hiring a professional. The show will include Stacey getting her hands dirty in a variety of home improvement tasks, from bricklaying to basic plumbing, tiling the roof to mastering hacksaws, all in an effort to assist homeowners who wish to make the transformation themselves. Stacey will document both large-scale renovations and more personal side projects, offering advice on how to save money and get a great look while also pushing herself to learn and use new home improvement skills.

The programme was ordered by Channel 4’s Senior Commissioning Editor Clemency Green and Head of Daytime and Features Jo Street. Reese Witherspoon, Sara Rea, and Sarah Lazenby will serve as Executive Producers for the series.

Sarah Lazenby, Hello Sunshine’s EVP and director of its UK-based unscripted branch, launched the company’s first production saying “anyone who follows Stacey online knows that when it comes to making DIY demos joyous, she has it nailed. Her genuine passion is both impressive and infectious, and we’re delighted to be partnering with her and Channel 4 to bring that invaluable knowledge to the nation at a time when we could all do with more skills that save money.”

Stacey Solomon herself said, “from an early age, my dad taught me DIY and the importance of fixing things yourself where you can. I still find it so satisfying to build or repair around the house and it saves loads of money. I am beyond excited to work with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine on their first ever UK project. They are all about empowering women, and what could be more empowering than a power tool?! It’s a dream come true to share my DIY hacks with everyone at home.”

Channel 4’s Clemency Green said: “Stacey has a natural talent for making a house a home. She is perfectly placed to show all of us that with a few clever tips we can all have a go at DIY and make our homes beautiful on a budget.”
