Stan Deepens Ties With Sony Pictures Television, Sets August Launch for Outlander: Blood of My Blood

Outlander Blood of My Blood 2

Stan is going bigger on U.S. imports. The Australian streamer has renewed its long-running deal with Sony Pictures Television, locking in a fresh pipeline of high-end U.S. scripted dramas and blockbuster films—including the upcoming Outlander prequel, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which will premiere Saturday, August 9, 2025.

The expanded multi-year pact cements Stan’s exclusive rights to key first-run dramas from Sony’s slate and folds in a broad array of catalog titles and film IP. On the TV front, that includes returning access to hits like Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Nanny, The Good Doctor, Dawson’s Creek, S.W.A.T., and The Goldbergs.

Headlining the new content drop is Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which centres on two love stories spanning the Scottish Highlands and World War I-era Europe. The prequel stars Hermione Corfield, Jeremy Irvine, Harriet Slater, and Jamie Roy. It’s being positioned as a major draw for both franchise loyalists and new viewers, further anchoring Stan’s premium drama offering.

Also coming to Stan under the deal: prestige limited series The Miniature Wife, with Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen, and American Hostage, led by Jon Hamm. On the film side, the agreement brings in titles from the broader Sony Pictures Entertainment library, including Spider-Man: No Way Home, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Anyone But You, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

The move underscores Stan’s continued strategy of leveraging global content partnerships to stay competitive in a tight streaming market. It also builds on the platform’s longstanding alliance with Sony, which dates back nearly a decade.
