Stan has picked up the exclusive streaming rights to “The Walsh Sisters,” a brand-new, six-part comedy-drama pulled straight from the pages of Marian Keyes’ celebrated novels.
For those unfamiliar, Keyes is the author behind bestsellers like “Rachel’s Holiday” and “Anybody Out There,” and “The Walsh Sisters” brings the messy, loving, and very real relationships between her characters to the small screen. The show follows the lives of the Walsh sisters, a tight-knit group making their way through life in Dublin.
The cast list includes Louisa Harland, Caroline Menton, and Danielle Galligan as three of the Walsh siblings, with Aidan Quinn also figuring in the family mix. Author Marian Keyes had a hand in bringing her books to Stan, acting as an executive producer. Stefanie Preissner led the writing team, penning four episodes, while Kefi Chadwick handled two. Preissner is also part of the on-screen lineup. Ian Fitzgibbon directed.
Rounding out the cast are Carrie Crowley as Mammy Walsh, Debi Mazar as Chaquie, Gina Moxley as Josephine, and Jay Duffy as Luke. Keyes, by the way, is currently touring Australia, meeting with fans in various cities.
