Stan is set to release a new original series, ‘Thou Shalt Not Steal’, on 17 October, directed by Dylan River, known for ‘Mystery Road: Origin’ and ‘Robbie Hood’. The series stars Noah Taylor, Miranda Otto, Will McDonald, and Sherry-Lee Watson, and has already premiered at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), with a screening at SXSW Sydney 2024 scheduled.
The show follows the story of Robyn, played by Watson, an Aboriginal delinquent who escapes detention and teams up with Gidge, portrayed by McDonald, on a perilous journey across the outback. They are pursued by a sex trafficker, Maxine (Otto), and Gidge’s father, Robert (Taylor), a fraudulent preacher.
The cast of ‘Thou Shall Not Steal’ also includes Warren H. Williams, William McKenna, Darren Gilshenan, Shari Sebbens, Damian Walshe-Howling, Geoff Morrell, Justin Rosniak, Andy Golledge (Robbie Hood), Eddie Baroo and Bonnie Sveen. The series is produced by Ludo Studio, with executive producers Charlie Aspinwall, Daley Pearson, and Sophie Miller, along with Sam Moor as producer. Cailah Scobie and Donna Chang serve as executive producers for Stan.
The series has received significant investment from Screen Australia, supported by various regional film corporations, and is distributed internationally by DCD Rights.
