Australian streamer Stan releasing a trailer for its upcoming original series, Bad Behaviour.
The four-episode series, created by Universal Studios’ Matchbox Pictures, will premiere on Stan on February 17.
Rising stars Markella Kavenagh and Yerin Ha join Jana McKinnon (“We Children from Bahnhof Zoo”) in the cast.
Jo Mackenzie (Jana McKinnon), 25 years old, reminisces about the harrowing year she and Alice Kang (Yerin Ha) spent together at Silver Creek (the wilderness campus of an elite boarding school) when they run into each other.
Exploring the intricate complexities of bullying, desire, memory, and sexuality inside the safe confines of a prominent girls’ boarding school, “Bad Behaviour” dives into the raw and visceral experience of adolescence.
The series, which jumps back and forth in time, demonstrates how the experiences of high school can leave permanent wounds.
With an ensemble cast including Erana James (The Wilds), AACTA Award winning Tuuli Narkle (Mystery Road: Origin), Dan Spielman (Stateless, New Gold Mountain), Diana Glenn (Harrow, Reckoning), Mantshologane Maile (The PM’s Daughter) and newcomers Melissa Kahraman, Daya Czepanski, Bronte Locke, Abbey Morgan, Malaynee Hayden and Jessica Lu.
Bad Behaviour is written by Pip Karmel (Total Control, New Gold Mountain) and Magda Wozniak (The Messenger, While the Men Are Away) and is produced by Amanda Higgs (The Secret Life of Us, Barracuda) and directed by Corrie Chen (New Gold Mountain, Homecoming Queens).
The world debut of the series will take place in 2023 at the Berlin Film Festival’s television showcase, the Berlinale Series. Screen Australia and Stan have made a significant commitment to the production of the series.
Bad Behaviour will premiere on Stan 17 February 2023 with all four episodes available at once.
