CBS Studios has released the official trailer and key art for the highly-anticipated second season of the animated series “Star Trek: Prodigy.” The new season will debut on Netflix on July 1, 2024, with all 20 episodes available globally, excluding certain territories.

The executive producers and co-showrunners, Kevin and Dan Hageman, introduced the trailer and key art. The series is the first Star Trek installment specifically aimed at younger audiences, introducing a new generation to the iconic franchise.

In Season 2, the young crew of the USS Voyager-A embarks on a mission to rescue Captain Chakotay, voiced by Robert Beltran, and bring peace to Gwyn’s (Ella Purnell) home world. However, their plans take an unexpected turn, creating a time paradox that threatens their future and past.

The voice cast includes returning stars Kate Mulgrew, Brett Gray, Ella Purnell, Rylee Alazraqui, Angus Imrie, Jason Mantzoukas, Dee Bradley Baker, John Noble, and Jimmi Simpson.

New recurring voice cast members for this season are Robert Picardo, Jason Alexander, Daveed Diggs, and Jameela Jamil.

“Star Trek: Prodigy” is developed by Emmy Award-winning brothers Kevin and Dan Hagemon. The series features a group of young aliens who must learn to work together while navigating the vastness of space. It is produced by CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios’ animation arm, in collaboration with Nickelodeon Animation, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment.
