STARZ is stepping back into the ring with Fightland, an eight-episode crime drama greenlit for production this fall in London, with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson attached as executive producer via G-Unit Film & Television.

Set in the high-pressure world of British boxing, Fightland follows a former champion fresh out of prison as he sets out to dismantle the crime family that ruined his life. It’s STARZ’s latest move to expand its crime drama portfolio beyond the U.S., targeting underrepresented audiences while leaning into the global momentum of the Power brand.

The series reunites key behind-the-scenes talent from the Power and BMF franchises, with Damione Macedon and Raphael Jackson Jr. tapped as showrunners, executive producers, and writers. UK creatives Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith also board as executive producers and writers, alongside Expanded Media’s Francis Hopkinson and Kate Leadbetter.

Strategically, Fightland extends STARZ’s effort to build global originals with cultural specificity and broad genre appeal. While its Power Universe remains core to the domestic slate, this marks a shift in geography and tone—pivoting from U.S. street politics to British underworld prizefighting, with a familiar revenge arc driving the plot.

It’s also a signal play for STARZ’s international growth strategy. With Lionsgate set to separate its studio and streaming assets, and STARZ focusing on targeted subscriber bases, dramas like Fightland help broaden the brand’s reach without diluting its edge.

Production begins this autumn in London. No premiere window has been announced.
