The series State Of The Union delves into the trials and tribulations of love relationships as well as the human condition. In this season, Ellen (Patricia Clarkson), a liberal campaigner, drags her traditional, self-made husband Scott (Brendan Gleeson) out of his comfort zone and into a hipster Connecticut coffee shop, where they have 10 minutes before their marriage counselling session to drink coffee, collect their thoughts, and argue.

In the midst of their squabbling, they begin to dismantle their 30-year marriage, discussing past betrayals, how they’re growing as people, and what their relationship’s future might look like in a changing world.

This 10 x 10 series stars Patricia Clarkson as Ellen, Brendan Gleeson as Scott, and Esco Jouléy as Jay, and was acquired from Endeavor Content, which handles international sales. Written by Academy Award-nominated, Bafta-winning, and Emmy-winning writer Nick Hornby, and directed by Academy Award-nominated, Bafta, and Emmy-winner Stephen Frears.
