Stranded on Honeymoon Island may be new to Australian screens, but for Amy and Mike—the first couple at the center of the experiment—it’s already all in. The duo will lead off Channel 7’s June launch of the stripped-back relationship format, which marries strangers and drops them into tropical isolation for 21 days with no phones, no friends, and no exit strategy.
Amy is coming in with emotional scar tissue. A self-described romantic, she’s had a “string of bad relationships” and says she’s looking for her happily-ever-after—ideally with someone who can keep up with her confidence and drive. Mike, meanwhile, wants to be “respected, loved, and adored,” but isn’t used to sharing control. Both see themselves as natural leaders in relationships, setting the stage for a power dynamic that could either ignite chemistry—or implode on camera.
Narrated by Jackie O, the series leans into the volatility, giving Amy and Mike nowhere to run and no one to mediate. Just two strangers trying to figure out whether love-at-first-wedlock can survive without outside influence—or basic creature comforts.
The show hails from Snowman Productions, the Danish outfit behind Married at First Sight, and is produced locally by Endemol Shine Australia (a Banijay company). Format rights were secured by Seven via Seven. One Studios International.
Stranded on Honeymoon Island premieres this June on Channel 7 and 7plus.
