Netflix is giving the finale of its global phenomenon Stranger Things a big-screen sendoff. The streaming service announced that the final episode of the show’s fifth and final season will premiere in over 350 theaters across the United States and Canada. The fan events are scheduled to begin on December 31, 2025, at 5:00 PM PT, timed to coincide with the episode’s global debut on Netflix.
The theatrical event will cap a staggered release for the final season. Netflix will release the season in three parts: Volume 1, containing episodes 501-504, arrives on November 26; Volume 2, with episodes 505-507, is set for a Christmas Day release on December 25; and the feature-length series finale, episode 508, will premiere on December 31.
The final season is set in the fall of 1987, with Hawkins under military quarantine following the opening of the Rifts. The town’s heroes are united in their goal to find and kill Vecna, but his disappearance complicates their mission as they face a government hunt for Eleven.
The entire main cast is slated to return, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, and Millie Bobby Brown, for a final confrontation that will bring the series to its conclusion. More information about specific theater locations and how to attend the screenings will be released later in the year.
