This Red Nose Day, Strictly Come Dancing is getting a comedic twist with a special sketch featuring two very unlikely new “professional” dancers. The sketch, airing on Friday, March 21st, is part of the 2025 Comic Relief fundraiser.

Here’s the Lowdown: The mockumentary-style sketch stars Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, along with comedians Rachel Parris (as Melissa) and Russell Kane (as Johnny). Due to new “inclusivity rules,” Melissa and Johnny, two complete amateurs, shockingly join the Strictly pro lineup. However, their celebrity partners both mysteriously withdraw due to bizarre injuries, leaving their Strictly dreams in jeopardy.

What This Means Now: Expect plenty of laughs as the sketch follows Melissa and Johnny’s awkward audition and the fallout from their partners’ withdrawals. Tess and Claudia reportedly come up with a “clever plan” to save the day. The segment features cameos from Strictly pros Johannes Radebe and Karen Hauer.

This comedic take on Strictly Come Dancing helps raise awareness and funds for Comic Relief, using a popular show to reach a wide audience. Tune in on Friday, March 21st, from 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer to see the sketch.
