Summer in the Scilly Isles: Episode 4 (Channel 5, Sunday, June 8, 2025)

Channel 5 Numeric

Pack your bags (and maybe a wetsuit) for another trip to the Scilly Isles, where life this summer is proving anything but dull. This week’s episode of Summer in the Scilly Isles, airing Sunday at 8 PM GMT on Channel 5, takes viewers on a journey from the ocean floor to a clifftop ceremony, taking in a very unique kind of festival along the way.

Narrated by Fern Britton, the series has spent the last few weeks exploring the unique rhythms of the Scilly archipelago—a group of islands 28 miles off the coast of Cornwall. This Sunday, cameras take a dive with a team searching for treasures in a 17th-century shipwreck—a vessel belonging to the East India Trading Company. Back on dry land, preparations are underway for what’s being billed as the world’s shortest festival: the Low Tide Event, which will only run for two hours when the receding waters reveal the sandbar connecting the islands of Tresco and Bryher.

And if that’s not enough activity to fill an hour, the episode also joins a couple tying the knot against the backdrop of the Scilly’s stunning scenery. Expect all the usual heart-tugging community spirit that’s been at the heart of the series so far—along with some genuinely dramatic footage from the deep sea.
