Channel 4’s long-running property series, Sun, Sea and Selling Houses, continues its tour of Spanish real estate dreams on Tuesday, July 1 at 6 PM. This week’s episode, Season 8 Episode 7, sees British house hunters hoping for a slice of the Costa Blanca good life, putting their faith in the local agents to find that perfect overseas pad.
First up, in Alicante, sisters Charlotte and Sophie Rodriguez face a familiar challenge: an exacting wish list and a firm budget. Their clients, Lisa and Paul from East Yorkshire, want a holiday villa with stunning views, a large sun terrace, and ample space both inside and out, all for a maximum of £400,000. Finding that ideal mix of views and value often makes for good television, and the Rodriguez sisters appear ready for the task.
Further north along the Costa Blanca, agents Jo and Andrew Alderton help ex-police officer Kevin and his wife Debbie look for a full-time Spanish home. Debbie has set a high bar for her prospective new home; she states that she will know it is the right property if it moves her to tears. That’s a tough metric to hit, even for seasoned property finders.
Away from the property hunts, Andrew plans a surprise romantic photographic trip for Jo, while Sophie’s husband, Damon, sets up a competitive day out for the sisters. It is the kind of lighthearted escapism that helps the show go down easy.
