RTÉ ONE’s “Super Garden” returns this Tuesday for a sixteenth season, unleashing a new crop of aspiring garden designers on unsuspecting backyards. The prize? A coveted spot at Bloom by Bord Bia, Ireland’s premier garden festival. The pressure? Immense.
This season’s premiere features designer Jorge Aragón Cano, originally from Mexico, tackling a garden for new homeowners Layla and Dylan. Can a designer accustomed to the flora and fauna of Mexico create a garden that thrives in the Irish climate? That’s just one of the questions hanging in the air as Jorge gets to work.
Like any good competition, “Super Garden” isn’t just about pretty flowers and manicured lawns. These designers face real-world challenges: tight budgets, demanding homeowners, and a ticking clock. With just five weeks to transform an ordinary space into a “Super Garden,” they’ll need to pull out all the stops.
