If you like your dessert with a side of engineering, then this Monday’s Super Mega Cakes is for you. Airing June 30 at 9:00 PM ET on Food Network, “Architectural Wonders” (Season 1, Episode 3) puts the cake-making skills of Duff Goldman’s team to the test against a rival group, all aiming to build edible structures of grand scale.
The challenge is simple enough on paper: create a cake with impressive structural detail, both inside and out. But the execution is anything but. Duff Goldman’s crew faces off against Timbo Sullivan, Sarah Ono Jones, and Sarah Myers, each team taking a distinct approach to the task. Judges Amaury Guichon, Sherry Yard, and none other than Drew Scott of Property Brothers fame will weigh in on the finished creations.
The winner takes home $10,000 and moves one step closer to the ultimate grand prize. This show pushes the boundaries of what’s possible with flour and sugar, elevating cake artistry to another level. With 50 audience members on hand to crown the overall champion later in the season, the pressure to deliver a visually stunning and technically sound cake is high.
