The baking competition genre gets a structural engineering upgrade with the premiere of Super Mega Cakes, Food Network’s new high-stakes contest. Kicking off Monday, June 16 at 9 PM ET with a 90-minute episode, the series challenges six teams of cake artists to create edible masterpieces on an architectural scale.
Host Duff Goldman is at the center of the action, both as a guide and a competitor. For the premiere challenge, “Superman,” Goldman and his Charm City Cakes crew go head-to-head against a British cake artist and her team. Their mission: to build a life-sized, animated cake of the Man of Steel.
Judging the confectionary creations are pastry experts Sherry Yard and Amaury Guichon, who are joined by actor Beck Bennett. The show is all about pushing the limits of what’s possible with sugar, flour, and a whole lot of internal support structures.
Later episodes will feature an “Under the Sea” challenge requiring a floating element and an “Alien Invasion” cake with a built-in lighting scheme. It’s a show that merges artistry with ambition, as teams race against the clock to design, bake, and assemble cakes that seem to defy gravity.
“Super Mega Cakes” premieres Monday, June 16, 2025, at 9:00 PM ET on Food Network.
