“Supermarket Stakeout” New Season Premiere May 1 on Food Network

Foodies and cooking fans have a tasty new season to look forward to, as Supermarket Stakeout returns to our screens this spring. The Food Network series sees chefs compete in a high-stakes pop-up kitchen, squaring off in three themed cooking rounds outside a supermarket.

Host Alex Guarnaschelli, an Iron Chef and Chopped judge, sets the challenges, which require chefs to convince shoppers to part with their grocery bags. With a tight budget and limited time, the competitors must charm their way to the best ingredients, creating innovative dishes under pressure. Each episode features a different panel of judges who decide which chef wins a coveted year’s worth of groceries.
