“Surviving Summer” Season 2 Now Filming in Victoria

The second season of the Netflix show “Surviving Summer” has officially begun filming on the beautiful Great Ocean Road in Wadawurrung Country in Victoria, home to some of the states most famous beaches and surf breaks.

Season two follows Summer Torres (Sky Katz) as she returns to Shorehaven and impresses her Australian friends with her increased surfing prowess.

She faces ups and downs in her love life, as well as a mystery new coach, as she strives to fulfil her surfing ambition. together with a surfer who is hellbent on defeating her.

Season 2 features the return of a number of fan favourites, including Kai Lewins as Ari Gibson, Joo Gabriel Marinho as Marlon Sousa, Savannah La Rain as Bodhi Mercer, and Lilliana “Lil” Bowrey as Poppy Tetanui. Lil is the current Open Women’s Queensland Surf Champion.

Olympia Valance (Neighbours, Playing for Keeps) is joining the cast this season as Elo, Annabel Wolfe (Black Snow) is playing Wren, and Josh MacQueen (Black Snow) is playing Baxter.

The show was created by Joanna Werner and Josh Mapleston and produced by Werner Film Productions for ZDF Studios and Netflix. Sian Davies and Christian Van Vuuren will return to direct the second season of ‘Surviving Summer.’

After premiering on Netflix in June 2022, the first season quickly became a global phenomenon, with over 20 million hours of viewing in the first two weeks alone and placement among the top 10 shows in more than 42 countries across the globe. There was a lot of fan participation on several social media sites, with TikTok alone seeing over 52.4M views of the #survivingsummer video.
