We’ve reached the endgame. “Survivor 47” kicks off its two-part finale with “Bob and Weave,” and if the title is any indication, the remaining players are going to be dodging, ducking, dipping, diving, and dodging some more. Two immunity challenges? Two tribal councils? This isn’t your average Wednesday night on Fiji time, folks. CBS is clearly aiming for a double dose of drama to cap off what’s been a reasonably compelling season, though whether they stick the landing, well, we’ll see.
“Bob and Weave” promises twice the usual opportunities for blindsides, backstabbing, and tearful goodbyes. The castaways still scrambling after the fallout from “Operation Italy” are facing a whole new level of pressure. Someone’s apparently decided that desperate times call for desperate measures, resorting to some good old-fashioned spying to try and gain an advantage. Whether this clandestine operation proves fruitful or just paints a bigger target on their back remains to be determined by the “Survivor” gods.
“Bob and Weave” is setting the stage for a potentially explosive finish. It might even deliver a final three nobody saw coming. That’s the hope, at least. Maybe it will be so compelling you’ll forget your weekly ritual of yelling at the TV over baffling strategic choices.
“Survivor 47” airs Wednesdays at 8:00 PM on CBS.
