Susan Calman is off to the seaside this Friday, June 27, at 8 PM, as Susan Calman’s Grand Day Out stops in Cromer on Channel 5. Calman hits the north Norfolk coast just in time for its Annual Vintage Sixties Festival.

The episode opens with Calman admiring a parade of scooters and joining the crowds with some impromptu sixties-era dance moves—a true sign of a grand day out. Later, she tries to earn her supper by sketching for a local bistro that features customer drawings, putting her artistic skills to the test.

Beyond the festival, Calman learns about the world’s only full summer season end-of-pier show at Cromer Pier’s Pavilion Theatre. Her accommodations are equally noteworthy: a windmill B&B, which she describes as a fairytale experience.

The journey also takes her inland to Thursford Steam Museum, home to the largest collection of steam engines and organs globally. She also takes a ride on the Venetian Gondola Switchback and travels along the coast on the Poppy Line heritage steam railway. Comedian Helen Lederer joins Calman for some seaside amusements, and even ventures out sailing in the salt marshes.
