Sky is launching a white-knuckle action-thriller. Prisoner, a new six-part Sky Original series currently filming in Wales, centers on a desperate flight for survival and the uneasy bond between a prisoner and his guard. The series features Tahar Rahim (The Serpent, Un Prophète), nominated for both BAFTA and Golden Globe Awards, alongside Scottish BAFTA winner Izuka Hoyle (Boiling Point, Big Boys).

Rahim plays Tibor Stone, a formidable and highly dangerous inmate. Hoyle plays Amber Todd, a young, dedicated prison officer whose world is shattered when the convoy transporting Stone is ambushed. Left as the sole survivors, Amber and Tibor are thrust into a frantic escape. This creates the central tension: a desperate fight for survival against a powerful crime syndicate determined to silence them.

The series, from Academy Award® and BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies), explores the ever-changing connection between captor and captive. As they evade their pursuers, their relationship undergoes a transformation. Amber finds herself questioning her ethical code, confronting a profound choice about the lengths she will go to for survival – and the extent to which she can rely on the dangerous man beside her.

BAFTA-winner Otto Bathurst (Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, Peaky Blinders) directs, bringing his signature style to the project. The cast also includes Eddie Marsan (Back to Black), Catherine McCormack (Lockerbie: A Search for Truth), Leonie Benesch (September 5), Finn Bennett (Black Doves), Sam Troughton (Lockerbie: A Search for Truth), Laurie Davidson (The Girlfriend), Ken Nwosu (Black Doves), Brían F. O’Byrne (Conclave) and Youssef Kerkour (Lockerbie: A Search For Truth).
