On Tuesday, April 23, ABC’s Tamron Hall welcomes mother and mental health advocate April Simpkins, TikTok influencer Emily Bonani, and psychotherapist and author Satya Doyle Byock to the show.
April Simpkins joins the show for an exclusive daytime interview about the tragic suicide of her daughter, former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst, and to discuss her new book, “By The Time You Read This: The Space Between Cheslie’s Smile and Mental Illness – Her Story In Her Own Words.” Simpkins will delve into the story behind her daughter’s smile and the mental health struggles that ultimately led to her untimely death.
Thirty-year-old TikTok influencer Emily Bonani will share her personal journey of anxiety around aging and the pressures of social media. As someone who has built a large following on the platform, Bonani will offer insights into the challenges of growing older in an online world that often glorifies youth and perfection.
Psychotherapist and author Satya Doyle Byock will provide expert advice for those facing anxiety and uncertainty in their 30s. Byock is the author of “Quarterlife: The Search for Self in Early Adulthood,” which explores the period between adolescence and midlife, offering guidance for those navigating the challenges of early adulthood. Byock is also the director of The Salome Institute of Jungian Studies, where she teaches online seminars and hosts a Substack newsletter, “Self & Society.”
