Taskmaster: An Invisible Jump Rope (Channel 4, Thursday, 8 May, 2025)

Taskmaster Greg Davies

Channel 4’s reliably ridiculous “Taskmaster” returns this Thursday, and if the title “An Invisible Jump Rope” is any indication, viewers are in for another round of absurd challenges and comedic mayhem. This week, Stevie Martin’s peculiar inventions take center stage in the first team task, leading to moments of exquisite awkwardness that only “Taskmaster” can provide.

Elsewhere, Fatiha El-Ghorri tackles the mundane task of lawn sweeping with a tool that is anything but conventional, while Jason Mantzoukas manages to destroy a shower in ways that defy explanation (and possibly plumbing). Rosie Ramsey, meanwhile, grapples with the pressures of mental arithmetic, a task that proves surprisingly challenging in the heightened “Taskmaster” environment. And let’s not forget Mathew Baynton and his unfortunate encounter with a grape.

Overseeing the controlled chaos, as always, is Greg Davies, the imperious Taskmaster himself, dispensing judgments with his trademark blend of wit and disdain. At his side, the ever-helpful Little Alex Horne meticulously documents the proceedings, ensuring that no point is left untallied, no humiliation goes unnoticed. Tune in to Channel 4 on Thursday, 8 May at 9:00 PM GMT for “An Invisible Jump Rope.”
