Gird your loins (or maybe just your funny bone) for a “grouse” new episode of “Taskmaster”! This Thursday on Network 10, Tom Gleeson, the tyrannical overlord of absurd challenges, returns with his trusty (and often exasperated) assistant, Tom Cashman, to put a fresh batch of comedians through their paces.
Episode 5 looks to be a particularly wild ride, with tasks designed to both stress out and soothe the ever-patient Cashman. The contestants will need to tap into their inner 13-year-old selves for one challenge, according to Network 10, which should give you some idea of the level of maturity on display.
For those unfamiliar with the format, each week five comedians face a series of ridiculous tasks, judged by Gleeson based on their cleverness and ability to, well, master the tasks. The winner at the end of the series takes home the coveted title of Taskmaster champion, along with bragging rights and probably a slightly bruised ego.
