“Taskmaster (AU)” is a reliable source of ridiculous, often inspired, comedic chaos. This week’s episode, airing Thursday on Network 10, seems to be no exception. The preview hints at a particularly bizarre collection of challenges, involving everything from decapitation (don’t worry, it’s Dave Hughes, and presumably not actual decapitation) to baking for postal codes.
The prize task, always a highlight, apparently leads to Dave Hughes comically “losing his head.” Whether this involves a disastrous creation or simply a strong reaction to one of his fellow contestants’ offerings remains to be seen. Elsewhere, Tom Cashman experiences the “beepie beepies,” suggesting a task with some kind of frustrating electronic component. And in a moment of apparent baking madness, Emma is tasked with creating a cake for National Zip Code Day.
The “A-Team” and “B-Team” are also back for another painting challenge, which, based on previous “Taskmaster” form, will undoubtedly devolve into utter mayhem. Each week, Taskmaster Tom Gleeson and his ever-suffering assistant Tom Cashman oversee these absurd tasks, watching with a mix of bemusement and bafflement as the comedians attempt to complete them.
“Taskmaster (AU)” airs Thursday, May 22nd at 7:30 PM AEST on Network 10.
