In the third episode of The Teacher, airing on Wednesday, 11 September 2024, at 9:00 pm on Channel 5, Dani and Tim’s marriage continues to deteriorate, while Matt struggles to process his grief and Jimmy tries to maintain control.
The episode opens with Dani waking up to Stan having a nightmare. Meanwhile, Tim finds himself in a holding cell at the police station, and Jimmy attempts to ease the tension with Matt. Dani continues her investigation by questioning Chloe further, but she reaches a dead end. At the park, she comes across Sienna, and they confide in each other about their shared grief.
Tim returns home on bail, and despite their efforts to avoid their issues, he and Dani end up discussing their crumbling marriage. Tim, in a catatonic state, voices his fears of going to prison, while Dani is determined to clear his name.
Caulfield and Jimmy witness a fight between Matt and another pupil. Jimmy sends Matt to his room, where he seethes with anger. Jimmy then asks Matt about Zac’s knife, but Matt denies any knowledge of it.
Tim and Dani argue about Tim’s overbearing nature, which drove Dani into Jimmy’s arms. Jimmy, struggling to maintain control, challenges Matt about the knife, but Matt balks and runs off.
Tim unexpectedly shows up at a teacher’s drinks event, only to stagger off into the night. Dani, who had left to diffuse a situation in the pub, is now unable to reach Sienna.
