The foul-mouthed teddy bear is far from finished. “Ted,” the film franchise spun off into a live-action series, is heading to Peacock once more, this time in animated form. Peacock has formally ordered “Ted: The Animated Series (WT),” bringing back key players from the original movies.
Seth MacFarlane will once again lend his voice to Ted, as well as executive produce the show alongside Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh. Adding to the familiar feel, Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, and Jessica Barth are set to voice their respective characters John, Sam, and Tami-Lynn. This strong connection to the source material should please long-time fans.
New additions to the voice cast include Kyle Mooney and Liz Richman, who will portray Apollo and Ruth as series regulars. The animated series comes from UCP, Fuzzy Door, and MRC.
This move comes after the success of the live-action “Ted” series, which became Peacock’s most-watched original title following its debut on January 11, 2024. The series also resonated globally, becoming the biggest U.S. comedy launch on Sky in the UK in over 20 years, and was renewed for a second season in May 2024.
A premiere date for the animated series will be shared later. The “Ted” universe expands with this new format, aiming to recapture the irreverent humor that made the movies a hit.
Seth MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, and Jessica Barth return for “Ted: The Animated Series” on Peacock, a sequel to the hit films.
