Sixteen years. That’s how long MTV’s “Teen Mom” has been documenting the lives of Maci, Cate, Tyler, Leah, and Amber. This Thursday, the moms and their now-teenage kids reunite in New York City for a celebration – and, inevitably, a bit of drama.
“Super Sweet 16!” looks back at their shared journey while also addressing the challenges they currently face. Cate continues to define her role as a mother without Carly in her life. Leah Shirley candidly discusses her complicated relationship with her mother, Amber, who, with the help of her own mom, is on a path to healing past trauma.
It’s a reunion that brings together the original “Mom Group,” highlighting the unique bond formed through shared experiences. This episode gives viewers a chance to reflect on how far these women have come while acknowledging that the work of parenting – and adulting – is never truly done.
