On Tuesday, 10 September, ABC Australia presents the fourth episode of The Assembly’s first season. Veteran ABC journalist Leigh Sales hosts the show, which follows Autistic journalism students as they are mentored by her and refine their skills. In this episode, the students prepare to interview musician and actor Delta Goodrem, who has had a distinguished career spanning over two decades. Goodrem boasts an impressive list of achievements, including winning 16 ARIA awards and having one of the biggest-selling albums in Australia’s musical history.
Leigh Sales conducts a mentoring session with the students, where we learn that Abbey, a fan of Delta, hopes for a duet opportunity. Meanwhile, Bethany seeks insight into how Delta has tackled challenging life experiences. With potentially thought-provoking questions on the agenda, Leigh wonders if the students can delve beneath Delta’s polished public image.
