In the third episode of The Assembly, a group of Autistic journalism students, mentored by renowned journalist Leigh Sales, secure an interview with the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese. The students, including 20-year-old Abbey and 40-year-old Andrew, prepare to engage with the country’s most important political figure.
Leigh Sales reveals the identity of their prestigious guest to the students, causing a nervous tension to build as they anticipate meeting the Prime Minister. However, Abbey’s focus is on a personal concern: she has never had a job, and she hopes the Prime Minister can assist her in finding employment.
Andrew, on the other hand, shares his experience as an advocate for autism, disclosing that despite being told by others that his autism limits what he can do, he has never allowed those opinions to hinder his progress.
