MTV’s venerable competition show, The Challenge, reaches the culmination of its epic 40th season with “The End of An Era,” airing Wednesday, January 1st at 8:00 PM. Eight finalists, veterans of the show’s various iterations, are set to face a final challenge described as a “gauntlet of intense checkpoints.” And, as if enduring physical and mental exhaustion weren’t enough, a substantial twist awaits them as they vie for a piece of the $1 million prize.
The exact nature of the twist remains a mystery. Will it involve a sudden partnership switch? A last-minute elimination?
