CBS’s The Equalizer looks set to deliver another dose of vigilante justice with “Sacrifice,” the fourth episode of Season 5, airing Sunday, November 17. This time, the team’s mission involves rescuing a young hacker whose skills have landed them in hot water with some decidedly unsavory individuals. While the premise might sound familiar, the episode’s hook lies in its connection to Harry Keshegian (Adam Goldberg), the team’s resident tech wizard.
It appears the hacker’s predicament strikes a chord with Harry, forcing him to confront echoes of his own past. This offers the potential for some character development beyond the usual keyboard-clacking heroics. Meanwhile, Detective Marcus Dante (Tory Kittles) returns for a visit with his father, which seems likely to inject some family drama into the mix. Elsewhere, Mel (Liza Lapira) makes some progress in therapy, leaving us to wonder if her newfound self-awareness will affect her work with the team.
The Equalizer tends to find a comfortable balance between action and character moments, and “Sacrifice” appears poised to continue that trend. Whether the episode truly digs into Harry’s past or merely skims the surface will be revealed this Sunday.
“Sacrifice” airs Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT on CBS and is available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME. It can also be streamed on demand the following day with Paramount+ Essential.
