Robyn McCall’s day job usually involves toppling criminal empires or rescuing kidnapped CEOs, not shielding stand-up comedians from death threats. Yet, in the upcoming episode of The Equalizer, titled “Take My Life…Please!”, McCall finds herself facing exactly that scenario. Is this a joke taken too far, or is there a more sinister plot lurking beneath the surface of the comedy club? Let’s just say, the punchline could be deadly.

The comedian in question has apparently ruffled some seriously dangerous feathers, enough to warrant a hit. Whether the source of the threat is a disgruntled heckler, a rival comic, or something far more organized will presumably become clear as McCall and her team (Mel, Harry, and Bishop) investigate. Viewers can undoubtedly look forward to the usual blend of McCall’s sharp wit, slick action sequences, and high-stakes moral dilemmas.

Beyond the case-of-the-week, “Take My Life…Please!” offers a continuation of ongoing personal storylines. McCall’s complicated romantic tension with Dante is set to simmer, as he lingers in town, still contemplating his next move regarding Big Ben. Will their paths finally converge, or will they forever remain star-crossed crime fighters?

Meanwhile, Delilah’s college search adds another dimension to the episode. This subplot provides a welcome counterpoint to the high-octane action, reminding us that even vigilantes have families. It will be interesting to see how Delilah’s aspirations for the future play out against the backdrop of her mother’s rather unusual profession.

The Equalizer airs Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT on CBS. You can also stream it live and on-demand via Paramount+ with SHOWTIME or catch it on-demand the next day with Paramount+ Essential.
