K-Pop and crime collide in the upcoming episode of NBC’s The Irrational, “Stan by Me.” Professor Alec Mercer (Jesse L. Martin), behavioral science expert extraordinaire, finds himself immersed in the often-frenzied world of K-Pop fandom when a superfan turns up dead. The twist? The prime suspect is none other than the idol the victim so obsessively adored. It is not exactly a standard case.
As Alec digs into the case, he’s joined by Rose, whose own past takes an unexpected and complicated turn as secrets emerge. Their partnership, always a source of both intellectual sparks and personal tension, faces new challenges as the investigation unfolds. Amidst the K-Pop choreography and obsessive fan culture, Alec must decipher the genuine threats from the manufactured drama.
Alongside Martin, returning cast members include Maahra Hill as Marisa, Molly Kunz as Phoebe, and Travina Springer as Kylie. With a blend of murder, music, and personal revelations, “Stan by Me” looks set to offer a distinctive chapter in The Irrational’s second season.
The Irrational airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
