On Wednesday, May 29, The Jennifer Hudson Show welcomes actor and writer Mindy Kaling, along with professional basketball players Cameron Brink, Dearica Hamby, Lexie Brown, and Rickea Jackson from the Los Angeles Sparks.
Mindy Kaling, an American actor, writer, and producer, joins the show to discuss her investment in and ambassadorship for the skincare brand Lion Pose. Founded by two female Harvard Business School graduates, Madhu Punjabi and Nisha Phatak, Lion Pose focuses on inclusivity and science-led formulations. Kaling has been vocal about her struggles with hyperpigmentation and acne scarring, and Lion Pose’s debut product, the Unspotted 4X Acid Jelly Night Serum, targets these specific skin concerns.
The Los Angeles Sparks, a professional basketball team in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), will be represented by four of their players on the show. Cameron Brink, a rookie forward for the Sparks, was selected as the second overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. She is known for her defensive skills, having led her college team at Stanford University to multiple championships.
Dearica Hamby, a forward for the Sparks, was drafted sixth overall in 2015 and has since played for the San Antonio Stars, Las Vegas Aces, and now the Sparks. She has been a two-time WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year and a WNBA All-Star.
Lexie Brown, a guard for the Sparks, was drafted ninth overall in the 2018 WNBA draft and has played for multiple teams, including the Connecticut Sun, Minnesota Lynx, and Chicago Sky. She won the 2021 WNBA Championship with the Sky before being traded to the Sparks in 2022.
Rickea Jackson, another rookie on the Sparks, was selected as the fourth overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. She played college basketball at Tennessee and Mississippi State, excelling in both scoring and rebounding.
