On Monday June 10, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert welcomes Senator Cory Booker, a Democrat from New Jersey, who has served in the Senate since 2013. Booker, the first African-American senator from New Jersey, has focused his legislative efforts on advancing women’s rights, affirmative action, same-sex marriage, and single-payer healthcare.

Booker has a background in local politics, serving as the 38th mayor of Newark from 2006 to 2013 and on the Municipal Council of Newark from 1998 to 2002.
