On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert welcomes Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, Haitian-Canadian music producer Kaytranada, and American R&B singer-songwriter Rayvn Lenae.
Ketanji Brown Jackson, an American lawyer and jurist, is the first black woman and the first former federal public defender to serve on the Supreme Court. She was nominated to the Supreme Court by President Joe Biden in 2022 and sworn into office the same year.
Kaytranada, born Louis Kevin Celestin, is a Haitian-Canadian music producer, rapper, singer and DJ. He rose to prominence after releasing a series of mixtapes, remixes, and original music projects beginning in 2010 under the alias Kaytradamus. In 2013, he began gaining wider recognition under the moniker Kaytranada, and the following year, he signed a deal with XL Recordings, with whom he released his critically acclaimed debut studio album 99.9% in 2016.
Rayvn Lenae, born Ravyn Lenae Washington, is an American R&B singer-songwriter from Chicago. She is currently signed to Atlantic Records and the Three Twenty Three Music Group, and is also a member of the musical collective Zero Fatigue. Her debut EP, Moon Shoes, was released independently in 2015 and reissued by Atlantic Records in 2016. Her follow-up EP, Midnight Moonlight, was released in 2017. In addition to performing at several music festivals, Lenae has also toured with SZA on her Ctrl Tour and Noname on her Telefone Tour.
Lenae released her debut album, Hypnos, on 20 May 2022, and her sophomore album, Bird’s Eye, on 9 August 2024, to critical acclaim.
Channel Tres, born Sheldon Jerome Young, is an American rapper, DJ, singer and record producer from Compton, California. He is best known for his singles “Controller” and “Topdown”.
