The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson: Part 1 (Lifetime, June 1, 2024)

The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson

On the eve of the 30th anniversary of Nicole Brown Simpson’s death, her sisters, Denise, Dominique, and Tanya, are speaking out for the first time about her life and the abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex-husband, OJ Simpson.

The four-part documentary, The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, premiering on Lifetime on Saturday June 1, features interviews with 50 of Nicole’s closest friends and family, as well as exclusive home videos and recordings of Nicole herself.

The series aims to shed light on who Nicole was outside of her relationship with OJ Simpson, and to give her a voice in a story that has been told many times—but always missing her perspective.

“I’m worried he’s gonna kill me one day and he’s gonna get away with it.”

Nicole Brown Simpson was just 18 when she met 30-year-old OJ Simpson, a superstar NFL running back and actor, in 1977. They married in 1985 and had two children together. However, the relationship was reportedly marked by abuse, with Nicole calling the police on OJ multiple times, and he was arrested for spousal abuse in 1989. Despite this, and their divorce in 1992, the abuse continued.

In the years following her death, Denise has become a noted public speaker on domestic violence. She, along with her sisters, sees the documentary as an extension of her advocacy: “There’s a whole new generation to educate when it comes to the issues of domestic violence.”
