Channel 5 and AMC Networks’ Acorn TV have announced the return of the crime drama series, The Madame Blanc Mysteries, for a fourth season. The show, created by and starring Sally Lindsay, has become a popular hit, not only in the UK but also in international markets such as the United States, Australia, and Canada.
The new season will consist of seven episodes, including a Christmas special, and will once again take viewers to the picturesque village of Sainte Victoire. The series follows the adventures of Jean White, played by Lindsay, as she solves crimes and navigates her personal life in this charming French setting. Steve Edge returns as Dom Hayes, Jean’s sidekick, and the pair’s developing romance will be a central storyline in the upcoming episodes.
The cast also includes Sue Vincent as mechanic Gloria Beaushaw, Robin Askwith and Sue Holderness as the eccentric married couple Jeremy and Judith Lloyd James, and Alex Gaumond as Chief of Police André Caron. Tony Robinson and Paul Chuckle join the ensemble as Dom’s Uncle Patrick and Gloria’s father, Trevor, respectively.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries has been a successful venture for Channel 5, with the third season averaging 2.3 million viewers and a 10.3% audience share. The fourth season will be directed by Dermot Boyd and produced by Jake Rollins, with Mike Benson and Andy Morgan serving as executive producers for Clapperboard, alongside Sally Lindsay and Caroline Roberts-Cherry for Saffron Cherry Productions. The Christmas special is scheduled to air on Channel 5 and Acorn TV in 2024, with the remaining episodes following in 2025.
