In this episode of The Motorway Cops: Catching Britain’s Speeders, PC Martain Anderson is on the lookout for a disqualified driver with a reputation for being antagonistic towards the police.
Martain tracks the driver to a back street in Sunderland and introduces himself as a police officer to the suspect, who questions his identity.
The driver further tests Martain’s patience by declaring that he is aware of his disqualification but doesn’t believe he needs a license to drive.
Sergeant Dave Roberts pursues a car linked to drug dealing in Newcastle city centre. With the help of additional motorway cops, Dave successfully stops the vehicle, but the passenger immediately flees on foot, raising suspicions. A search of the car uncovers the reason for their hasty escape.
Meanwhile, PC Will Hunter and Martain decide to get some food at a drive-thru burger joint in the middle of the night. While placing their order, Will’s in-car camera alerts him to the presence of a stolen car in the queue, leading to a quick plan to apprehend the thief. The driver attempts to flee but finds themselves surrounded by motorway cops in the car park.
