The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Returns for Season Five This September on Bravo

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is set to return to Bravo for its fifth season, which will premiere on Wednesday, 18 September at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The new season is hinted to deliver a mix of fractured friendships, explosive rumours, and extravagant fashion choices.

Joining the cast this season are two new housewives: Bronwyn Newport and Britani Bateman. Newport, a longtime friend of returning housewife Lisa Barlow, is expected to stand out with her over-the-top fashion sense and sharp humour. She is a single mother and excommunicated former Mormon who now relishes a luxurious lifestyle. Bateman, a Utah native and practising Mormon, is a multi-hyphenate: a real estate developer, actress, and singer. She enters the social circle through housewife Heather Gay but soon finds herself at odds with several women, including Barlow.

Bateman’s friend, Meili Workman, a model and mother of four, will also appear. Workman, a California native, relocated to Utah to embrace the LDS church but ultimately decided against it.

This season is expected to continue the dramatic finale of the previous season, which saw a surge in multi-platform viewership, with an 18% increase from the prior season. The show’s first reunion episode attracted its largest audience in over two years.

In addition to Barlow and Gay, the returning housewives include Angie Katsanevas, Meredith Marks, and Whitney Rose. Mary Cosby also rejoins as a full-time cast member, known for her unfiltered opinions and luxurious taste.

Marks will explore her Jewish faith by having a bat mitzvah, aiming to strengthen her relationship with her husband, Seth. However, her relationship with Rose remains strained due to their competing interests in bath products.

Rose finds herself confronted by the other women due to rumours about her jewelry line. As tensions rise, the husbands get involved, with heated exchanges between Rose’s husband, Justin, and Marks’s husband, John.

Katsanevas moves past last season’s rumours and celebrates her 25th wedding anniversary with Shawn. She forms a close bond with Cosby but experiences a rocky friendship with Barlow, as loyalty and support are questioned.

Barlow enters the season with strong alliances, particularly with Marks, who pledges support. However, her relationship with Rose is strained as Rose makes critical remarks about Barlow’s role as the group’s antagonist. In response, Barlow raises questions about the legitimacy of Rose’s business practices.

Cosby, known for her fiery personality and expensive taste, re-enters the dynamic, attempting to reconcile with Rose and Gay after past disagreements. She forms an unexpected deep friendship with Katsanevas but struggles to maintain her connection with Marks.

Gay, loyal to Barlow, faces tension with Cosby, exchanging barbs about body image. Gay’s friendship with Bateman adds fuel to the fire, as Bateman’s unfiltered speech leads to further group conflicts.
