The Roku Channel Adds MotorTrend to its FAST TV line up
The MotorTrend FAST TV linear channel, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and operated by the MotorTrend Group, will soon be available on The Roku Channel. According to Roku’s Q1 2023%* active account reach and streaming hour engagement data, the Roku Channel’s FAST offering is the most popular FAST service on the Roku platform in the United States. The addition of MotorTrend FAST TV to the service is a major development in MotorTrend’s expansion plan, allowing the network to reach more viewers than ever before with its premier automotive programming.
This is Roku and MotorTrend’s second major announcement in as many months. In April, the two businesses made history by announcing they would be working together to produce the second season of KEVIN HART’S MUSCLE CAR CREW. The new season of the hit show, co-produced by Hartbeat Productions and Roku and MotorTrend, will premiere on the Roku Channel.
With the new FAST distribution deal, subscribers to the MotorTrend Roku Premium Subscription can watch 7,000 episodes of MotorTrend content without commercial interruption on the Roku platform and on the MotorTrend channel.
Most of MotorTrend’s most popular shows, including ROADKILL, BITCHIN’ RIDES, and TEXAS METAL, are available on MotorTrend FAST TV for free. In addition, ROADKILL, MotorTrend’s #1 digital series and the shows it inspired, have their own unique programming block on MotorTrend FAST TV on the weekends. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan, two of MotorTrend’s most well-known contributors, spend their weekends discussing automotive chaos theory, or the brilliant execution of bad ideas involving various types of muscle cars, 4x4s, and/or hot rods. Also airing this weekend is the spinoff hit FASTER WITH FINNEGAN.
Plex offers international distribution for MotorTrend FAST TV, in addition to Amazon Freevee, Samsung TV Plus, Vizio WatchFree+, Xumo, and others. MotorTrend also hosts the FAST channel on MotorTrend.com and MotorTrend+.
The Roku Channel, which debuted in 2017, is the hub for both free and paid content on Roku devices. The Roku Channel launched to an estimated 100 million U.S. households in Q4 2022. More than 80,000 free movies and TV shows, plus more than 350 free live linear TV channels, can now be found on The Roku Channel. It has over 250 content distribution and licensing partners.
More FAST providers will be announced soon.
