“The Secrets of Hillsong” Premieres Friday 15 May on FX

Premiering on FX Friday, May 19 at 10PM ET/PT is the four-part documentary series The Secrets of Hillsong. It investigates one of the most famous megachurches of the 21st century and includes the first-ever interviews with former pastors Carl and Laura Lentz. The first two episodes will broadcast for the premiere, and the last two will air on May 26. Hulu will have all programmes available the following day. In Latin America, the show will air on Star+, while in other regions, it will air on Disney+ under the Star brand.

Based on the explosive initial reporting on the megachurch’s scandals by Vanity Fair journalists Alex French and Dan Adler, The Secrets of Hillsong is a four-part documentary series. First interviews with Carl and Laura Lentz since their public ouster from the church that for years counted singers, actors, athletes, and other celebrities among its flock have been released in the Stacey Lee-directed documentary The Secrets of Hillsong.

Moving conversations with many of the congregation are included in The Secrets of Hillsong as they deal with the church’s new disclosures and the still-unfolding global reckoning. Tiff Perez, Ashley Jones and Mary Jones, Josh Canfield, Janice Lagata, Geoff Bullock, David Shoebridge, David Cowdrey, Tanya Levin, and many others, both current and past members of Hillsong, are among those interviewed. The Secrets of Hillsong uses new research and analysis from journalists, historians, and policymakers to look beyond the tabloid headlines and behind the scenes at the church’s lengthy history of covering up misconduct for its own protection.
