In this episode, Shepherd will be joined by Beverly Johnson and her daughter, Anansa Sims. Johnson, a pioneering model, actress, singer, and businesswoman, rose to fame as the first Black model to appear on the cover of American Vogue in 1974. Johnson has also written two books: “Beverly Johnson’s Guide to a Life of Health and Beauty” and “True Beauty: Secrets of Radiant Beauty for Women of Every Age and Color.” Johnson’s acting credits include roles in “Ashanti” (1979), “The Meteor Man” (1993), “Def Jam’s How to Be a Player” (1997), and “Crossroads” (2002).

Anansa Sims is the daughter of Johnson and musician Danny Sims. Johnson and Sims divorced in 1979.

Also joining Shepherd is author and advocate Jen Hatmaker, who will share her tips on how to make a fresh start for spring. Hatmaker is a New York Times bestselling author of books including “For the Love” and “Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire”, among others. She hosts the award-winning “For the Love” podcast and is the curator of the Jen Hatmaker Book Club. Hatmaker has also co-founded Legacy Collective, a giving organization granting millions toward sustainable projects worldwide.
