Morris Chestnut’s hitting up The Talk this Thursday, December 19th, to chat about his new CBS crime drama Watson. Intriguing, right? A show about the good doctor tackling crime? But wait…where’s the deerstalker-wearing, pipe-puffing other half of that dynamic duo? It appears this medical-mystery mash-up is a Watson-only affair. A bold move, CBS, a bold move indeed.
Chestnut’s appearance comes as The Talk itself wraps up its rather lengthy run (a fifteen season stretch, if you can believe it). This Thursday’s episode is the second to last, giving Chestnut’s new project a platform on a show still drawing a decent viewership before the final curtain call on Friday.
Now, about this Watson… It’s got the whole medical drama thing going for it, and throws in some crime-solving for good measure. But, notably – and perhaps bafflingly – there’s no sign of Sherlock Holmes. It’s a Sherlock-less Sherlock show, essentially. Can Watson carry a crime series all by his lonesome?
Tune in to The Talk on Thursday, December 19th at 11:00 AM on CBS to catch Morris Chestnut and get a glimpse of what a Sherlock-less Watson show might look like. And then again on Friday for what we’re assuming will be a parade of teary goodbyes as the daytime staple shutters its doors.
