On Tuesday May 7, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon welcomes composer, actor, and rapper Lin-Manuel Miranda, his father Luis Miranda, actor Josh Charles, and Irish post-punk band Fontaines D.C. to the show.
Lin-Manuel Miranda is an American songwriter, actor, singer, filmmaker, and rapper. He is best known for creating the Broadway musicals In the Heights and Hamilton, as well as writing the soundtracks for the animated films Moana, Vivo, and Encanto. Miranda has won numerous accolades, including a Pulitzer Prize, three Tony Awards, two Laurence Olivier Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and five Grammy Awards.
Miranda will be joined by his father, Luis Miranda, a longtime Democratic and civic activist from Puerto Rico. Luis has been a key figure in Democratic politics, working on campaigns for Hillary Clinton and Adriano Espaillat, among others. Luis has also been a champion of his son’s ambitions, encouraging him to pursue his dreams and helping to promote his off-Broadway musical In the Heights.
Joshua Aaron Charles is an American film, television, and theater actor. He is best known for his roles as Dan Rydell in Sports Night, Will Gardner in The Good Wife, and Knox Overstreet in Dead Poets Society. Charles has been nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on The Good Wife.
Fontaines D.C. is an Irish post-punk band formed in Dublin in 2014. The band consists of Grian Chatten, Carlos O’Connell, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan III, and Tom Coll. They released their third album, Skinty Fia, in 2022, which became their first to reach number one on the Irish Albums Chart and UK Albums Chart.
