On Monday May 20, Daisy Ridley, the actress known for her role in the Star Wars trilogy, will be a guest on ABC’s The View to discuss her upcoming film “Young Woman and the Sea.” The biographical drama film, directed by Joachim Rønning and written by Jeff Nathanson, is based on the 2009 book of the same name by Glenn Stout.
“Young Woman and the Sea” tells the inspiring true story of Gertrude “Trudy” Ederle, a record-breaking competitive swimmer who, in 1926, became the first woman to swim across the English Channel. Ederle, an American swimming champion, had previously won a gold medal at the 1924 Olympic Games. The film chronicles her journey as she pushes her limits, swimming across some of the world’s most famous canals.
The View airs Monday May 20, 2024 at 11.00am on ABC.
