On Friday, 27 September 2024, The View on ABC welcomes country music star Mickey Guyton and ABC News correspondent and co-anchor of 20/20 Deborah Roberts.
Mickey Guyton, a country music star, will discuss her new album, House on Fire, which is set for release on 27 September 2024. Guyton made history as the first Black woman nominated for Best Country Solo Performance at the Grammys. Her previous singles, “What Are You Gonna Tell Her” and “Black Like Me”, challenged the genre and its listeners with tough questions about gender equality and race.
Deborah Roberts, an award-winning ABC News correspondent, will talk about her role as co-anchor of the prestigious news magazine 20/20. Roberts has travelled the world for her reporting and has received multiple Emmy Awards for her international and national coverage of world events, including the AIDS crisis in Africa and maternal mortality in Bangladesh. She has also been awarded a Peabody Award for the 20/20 special “Say Her Name: Breonna Taylor”.
